DOWNTOWN RICHMOND'S TRANSFORMATION
Most of us have been new to Richmond at one time or another. And most of us have watched things change--with energy, revitalization and creativity, there is a new alive and vibrant Richmond for us to enjoy. But how is that happening? Not by chance, I assure you. Hard work and dedication by many people who believe in the future of this great city are what makes the difference.
We are so fortunate to have as our speaker for June, Lucy Meade, Director of Marketing and Development for Venture Richmond. Lucy is a champion for Richmond's future. For 27 years she has been a catalyst with business and community leaders to enhance the vitality of Richmond through economic development, marketing, promotion, advocacy and events. When we notice new beautification projects, the RVA brand that so many of us now utilize, Emmy-nominated TV shows filmed here in Richmond, or the Holiday Skyline Lighting each Holiday Season, we have reasons to know Lucy Meade and to thank her.
Lucy has served on numerous non-profit boards including Friends of Art, Meals on Wheels, Visual Arts Center, The Virginia Capital Trail Foundation, and Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens. When she is not preaching the story of Richmond's revitalization, she nurtures her own creative spirit by laughing, learning, volunteering, biking, painting and savoring life with interesting friends. We hope you will be with us in June to welcome Lucy and thank her for all she does for all of us!
