October Luncheon Program
Gilded Age Richmond: Gaiety, Greed and Lost Cause Mania
Join Brian Burns for a romp through the River City in the aftermath of the Civil War as our city entered the Gilded Age. Richmond was seeking bright prospects as well as dealing with its own past. The city confronted issues such as white supremacists, segregation, wondrous new inventions like the first electric streetcar, and the Monument Campaign, which proved a great comedy of errors.
Moving into a new Century was not as easy as it seemed! Come hear Brian tell all the secrets of the rich and powerful in this turbulent time in Richmond!
